Project Runway Designers Imagine Kate's Wedding Dress

Ack! I'm a huge fan of Project Runway, but these people just don't get it! They have no idea how to dress a royal bride. Some of these designs are frightening, and I'm frankly shocked at the (LOW) level of drawing skills among many of them. Still, it's quite a hilarious slideshow.

Project Runway Designers' Wedding Dresses for Kate Middleton

Traditional royal wedding gowns are never strapless or even sleeveless. The necklines can be a bit daring, but always tastefully so. I worry that Kate's taste can run to the slightly severe, and I hope her designer gets her to accept a big "statement" dress with a 10 foot train. Diana's train was 25 feet, but times are tough, so we don't want to go there. That said, I'd love to see a simple bodice and huge skirt. I also wonder if she could get away with something slightly off-the-shoulder?

What would you like to see Kate wear on her wedding day?

The Way to a Prince's Heart...

As there don't seem to have been any Kate Middleton sightings in the last few days, it gave me a chance to post something amusing I've been thinking about lately. It seems the way to a Prince's heart is very simple, wear something see-through. Who doesn't remember the very young Lady Diana Spencer posing for photographers back in 1980, unaware of the transparent nature of her skirt?
A mere 22 years later, young Kate Middleton rocked a see-through dress at a student fashion show at which Prince William was in attendance. In my opinion, that has to be one of the ugliest dresses ever to go down a runway, but William was apparently not looking at the dress!
Like father, like son, I guess!

(ps - the ugly dress recently sold at auction for £78,000 -- or around $125,000.)

Casual Chic March 19, 2011

Kate Goes Shopping

From the Daily Mail March 19, 2011. Kate wears a casual, fitted jacket, grey pants and her ubiquitious black boots. It's a nice look, finished off with a soft scarf and ponytail. Looks like she might be wearing the big diamonds in her ears but I can't tell for sure. The bag is one we've seen many times before, one of her favorites (see inset image from July 2010). Not sure if it's Coach, although it could be. If anyone knows, leave a comment, please.

Kate Middleton Fashion, March 13, 2011

From the Daily Mail on March 13, 2011. Kate and William have lunch at Mosimann's in London.
Could she have chosen anything more boring? We saw the tan jacket a few weeks ago, when she lunched with Camilla on February 10 (see inset image). The black dress is a yawn, and the shoes are ...well...I can't decide if I like them or hate them. But the hair...she looks like she just got out of the shower.
Yep, this is what it's going to be like from now on, Catherine. People like me dissecting your every wardrobe and hair choice. Love ya, but get used to it.

Kate and William in Belfast, March 8, 2011

Surprise Visit to Belfast, Northern Ireland
According to the Daily Mail, Kate's trenchcoat-with-ruffle is a $1050 Burberry coat.
She's sticking to her basic black accessories, a safe choice that works well in this case.

She's also wearing the same diamond (?) studs in her ears - if those are real diamonds, they're well over a carat each.
