Kate Middleton attended a wedding with her husband Prince William, on June 10, 2012. The couple — along with everyone's favorite royal, Prince Harry — attended the marriage of Emily McCorquodale (one of Princess Diana’s nieces) to James Hutt, in Lincolnshire, England. Catherine went to her closets to create this mashup of previously worn items.
Let's see....the hat was previously worn to the Epsom Derby, the Jenny Packham dress was last seen in LA a year ago, the Hobbs clutch was carried in Canada, and the coat was worn at the Order of the Garter service. The cubic zirconia and reconstituted freshwater pearls earrings are the same inexpensive ones worn several times in the past, most recently justthe other day to the Diamond Jubilee Service of Thanksgiving. And, in a rare display of sartorial spunk, Kate thumbed her nose at the press (particularly Liz Jones and the Daily Mail)
by trotting out the old LK Bennett nude heels she has worn so many times in the past. Now we know that Catherine owns at least a couple pairs of stylish and appropriate grey heels,
which leads me to believe this was an intentional neener-neener on her part.
Personally I find it funny, and it redeems the whole outfit for me! Cuz I'm not a huge fan of this outfit, I find the coat a bit boring and too old for her, the insets look a little like curtain fabric, and the color is blah blah blah. I disliked the dress the first time she wore it (in LA), no offense but it looks, well...like something you'd buy at JC Penneys when you only had ten minutes to shop.
At least she did something awesomely different with her hair! By braiding the two hunks that usually hang down in front, she's kept her hair off her face while still leaving it long down her back. Bravo!
